40 “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me…. 42 and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.”

Meets… 25:  ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ 37 ….. ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family,[a] you did it to me.’

These words certainly part of the inspiration for “we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal meets with liberty and justice for ALL.”
